Interior Design – Integrating Dry Lining into Interior Design.
I would just like to add some some context regarding drywall or dry lining as it is called locally. Although I am a time served Carpenter etc, I have worked on the renovation of some of the top hotels in Europe including the Kempinski Hotel Adlon Berlin and the Furstenhof Leipzig doing high specification Hotel interiors & Drywall(TrockenBau).
(The Adlon is the Hotel that Michael Jackson held his Baby on its Balcony to his fans). Working on these projects I gained extensive knowledge and experience in thermal, acoustic and fireproofing of Partitions and Ceilings. Its been said many times “the Germans are way ahead of us in most things”
I can integrate specialist dry-lining into normal every day residential projects including Thermal, Acoustic and even hi-spec F90 or even F120 Fireproof Partition Walls and Ceilings. I have contracted locally for Mercedes Benz , Tesco’s and Totalis Solutions to mention a few, but I also do on-budget domestic Refurbs, Conversions and Extensions.

Benefits of Dry lining in Interiors.
Dry lining has grown in popularity over the last 15-20 years. Most modern housing schemes use this method. Dry liners generally build the internal Partition walls in homes, offices and shops using plasterboard. It is much cleaner and quicker to apply with much less water being used.
In some circles dry lining is viewed as a cheaper alternative. But dry lining walls does have its benefits and advantages. These advantages include:
- Dry-lining is quicker and more efficient method compared to traditional practices, such as block, cement and sand.
- Dry lining hides pipes and wires.
- Drylining provides a cavity space for insulation and will generally allow greater use of Thermal and Acoustic insulation enhancing quality, comfort and indeed safety of room space.
- Dry-lining can be decorated immediately.
